1. General rules

 

eTipsters.com is a Tipsters community and competition website devoted to sports betting fans around the world.

Best Tipsters will be rewarded with monthly and yearly cash prizes.

It is 100% Free to register and join the ongoing tipsters’ competitions. If you still don’t have an account, register now!

During registration you will have to fill in the required data to create your eTipsters.com profile. Your e-mail, first and last name will remain private. Please give accurate information in order to be eligible for prize payouts.

You can have only one account at eTipsters.com. Anyone who has more than one account will be disqualified.

After you register, visit eTipsters regularly and tip at least on 50% of the BetSlips.



2. Tipping on BetSlips

 

Log in to start tipping. At your User’s Home page you will find BetSlips available for tipping.


BetSlip availability, closing time and editing

Every BetSlip has its own unique number, date, and closing countdown timer. The start (kick off) time of the matches is based on GMT +1 (Greenwich Mean Time +1).

Betslips are usually available for tipping one day before the closing date. No Betslip can be added later than 6 hours before its closing time.

Betslip closes for tipping 30 minutes before the start of the first match in that BetSlip. You can also edit your tips, but not later than the Betslip’s closing time.


Stake
The stake per BetSlip is fixed and it is 100Units.


Tipping and tips
A BetSlip can have from 1 to 20 matches available for tipping. You can tip on 1 to 7 matches per Betslip.

You can select only one tip per match. For instance: 1 (home), x (draw), or 2 (away) See more tip types here.

Odds

Odds used in the Betslips are Decimal (European) odds.

1.20 (decimal) = 1/5 (fractional )
1.40= 2/5, 1.50=1/2, 1.80=4/5, 2.00=1/1, 3.00=2/1, 5.00=4/1, 10=9/1,

Decimal odds multiplied by your stake equals the payout (winnings plus stake back).
100Units x 1.50odds=150Units Payout

Earnings (or Winnings) are calculated when you subtract the stake from the payout.
150 Units Payout – 100 Units stake = + 50 Units Earnings

In other words, the odds show how many units the bookmaker pays out per unit staked.

(If a match is canceled the odd is 1.00 regardless of the selected tip, which gives you back the total stake per that match.)

BetSlip Outcome

Played BetSlip’s outcome can be Won, Lost or Draw.

A Betslip is considered Won when the earnings are positive (+), (greater than zero).
A Betslip is Lost when the earnings are negative (-)
In some occasions a Betslip can be a Draw. This can happen when playing the system singles or if every tipped game in the slip is canceled.
Draw Bet slips are considered as played for the ranking criteria but are not taken into account when calculating the ranking parameters.

BetSlip Systems

Currently there are two available systems for tipping; Accumulate (Accumulator) and Singles. The default system at a BetSlip is Accumulate.

The system Accumulate means that you play all matches together (in a bundle) where the total odds multiplied. To win a BetSlip using this system you must have a correct tip for every match.

The System Singles means that you play every match you tipped as a single one, whereas the total stake of 100units is divided among the tipped matches. To win a Betslip with this system it is not necessary to tip correctly every match.

(When playing only one match per slip the calculations are the same for both systems)
 



3. Tipsters Ranking


Regular Tipsters at eTipsters.com will be ranked: currently, every month and every year according to their performance in three different categories. These categories are: Earnings, Profitability and Efficiency.

The criterion to rank for the monthly prizes in every category is to play at least 50% of all available betslips during that month. If during one month there are 30 betslips in total, you have to tip on at least 15 slips in order to rank and be eligible to win prizes.

Criteria to rank for the yearly prizes is to play at least 50% of all available betslips during the year and also to play at least 50% of all available betslips during the last month (December). If there are 360 betslips during the year and 30 betslips in December you have to play at least 180 yearly and at least 15 slips in December in order to rank and be eligible to win yearly prizes.

(A betslip is considered played regardless of its outcome (Won, Lost or Draw))


Ranking by Earnings

This category is considered as a primary (the most important) category at eTipsters.com and the winner in this category is the overall winner (or The Best Tipster).

Earnings of a wining betslip (if the Accumulate System is played) are calculated when the stake is subtracted for the total payout. The total payout is calculated when the total odds of the betslip are multiplied by the sake of 100Units. A lost betslip brings you negative earnings of 100Units (-100).

Earnings = Payout – Stake, Payout = Total Odds x Stake.

It’s a bit more complicated to calculate earnings when the system singles is played. Please refer to the Singles system for a more detailed explanation.

The Earnings of all Betslips during the month (or the year) are added to the tipster’s balance. The Tipster with the highest amount wins first place.

This is the category where the real tipster’s qualities and capabilities will be demonstrated and thus rewarded. To win this category, try to take advantage of every available betslip and its stake. This usually means to play them all. Loosing a betslip will hurt your earnings, but winning a slip with higher odds will cover previous losses and substantially increase your earnings. In this category it is not important to win every possible betslip but to generate higher earnings than the competitors by playing above average odds on matches where you can sense the outcome.


Ranking by Profitability

Profitability is a percentage calculated when you divide the total earnings with the total stakes during the month (or year) (and than multiplied by 100%). In the financial world this ratio is known as ROI (Return on investment). It shows what would’ve been your profits if you invested 100Units.

The higher ranked Tipsters have a higher ROI percentage.
The tipsters trying to win this category will avoid playing bet slips where the outcome is hard to predict or bet slips with very low possible earnings. Anyway it is important not forget the ranking criteria of 50% played betslips.



Ranking by Efficiency

The efficiency of a tipster shows the percentage of won betslips of all played. Higher Efficiency, higher rank.
The efficiency is calculated when the number of won tickets is divided by number of played tickets. (Draw betslips are not considered in this calculation but are considered as played for the ranking criteria of 50%).

If you won 18 tickets out of 30 played your efficiency is 60%. (18/30)x100%. If a tipster has 9 winning slips out of 14 played with 30 available, they will have a 64% efficiency but won’t have a rank and won’t be eligible to win prizes because they have only played 47% of available betslips.

To win this category you have to try to win every possible slip you play. Therefore, play small odds and/or use the system singles when tipping on betslips.

A1. Tips Abbreviations.

 

When tipping on a BetSlip you can select only one tip per match. Here are the abbreviations and explanations of the most commonly used tips:


Win/Draw/Win (1x2):

1 (home) – Home team wins
x (draw) – The match is a draw
2 (away) – Away team wins


Double Chance (DC):

1x – Home team wins or the match is a draw (if the away team wins this tip is false)
12 – Home team wins or away team wins (if the match is draw this tip is false)
x2 – The match is draw or away team wins (if the home team wins this tip is false)


Total Goals (TG):

Over 2.5 – Total goals of the match (by both teams) must be 3 or more
Under 2.5 – Total goals of the match must be 2 or less
0-1 : The total number of goals scored during the match will be 0 or 1.
2-3 : The total number of goals scored during the match will be 2 or 3.
4-6 : The total number of goals scored during the match will be 4, 5 or 6.
7+ : The total number of goals scored during the match will be 7 or more.
g+: The total number of goals scored during the match will be (g) or more.


Half Time/Full Time (HT/FT):

1/1 - Home team wins both, at Half Time and at Final time
1/2 - Home team wins at Half Time but the Away team wins the match
1/x - Home team wins at half time, but the final result is a draw

x/1 - The first half ends in a draw, but the Home team wins the match.
x/2 - The first half ends in a draw, but the final result is an away win.
x/x - The result at both Half Time and Full Time ends in a draw.

2/1 - Away team wins in the First Half but the Home team wins the match.
2/2 - Away team wins both, at Half Time and at Final time
2/x - Away team wins at half time, but the final result is a draw


Correct Score (CS):

1:0 – Home team scores 1 goal, away team doesn’t score.
2:0 – Home team scores 2 goals, away team doesn’t score

A2. Decimal odds explained

 

Odds are a way of showing how likely some outcome of the match is to happen and how much you'll win if it does happen.

There are two widely-used means of quoting odds: Fractional (Traditional) odds and Decimal (European) odds. The third popular types of odds are Moneyline odds and are widely used in the USA.

The key difference between the two formats is that the fractional format shows how much you will win, whereas the decimal format shows how much you will be returned. 

When the fractional odds are 5/1, you would win 5 units for every 1 unit staked. If you stake 1 Unit you could win 5 Units plus the 1 Unit staked. That is equal to 6 Units Payout.

On the other hand, Decimal odds are simply a multiplier by which you can multiply your stake and calculate your total returns (winnings plus returned stake). (Decimal odds are essentially equivalent to the decimal value of the fractional odds, plus one.)

The decimal format of 5/1 is 6.00 (5/1+1). In the decimal format you calculate the payout by simply multiplying the stake with the odds (1Unit x 6.00 = 6Units Payout). But notice that your winnings are still 5 Units since the stake is included in the payout.

With decimal odds, things are simpler as the figure quoted is the payout per unit staked.

6.00 pays out 600 Units (6.00 x 100 Units staked)
4.20 pays out 420 Units (4.20 x 100)
1.30 pays out 130 Units (1.30 x 100)
 
You can notice that the smaller the odds, the smaller the payout; but the chances of winning on that outcome are bigger. The bigger the odds, the bigger the payout is; but the chances of winning that outcome are smaller.

Decimal odds are actually easier to understand, and definitely an easier comparison. For instance, which of these is the longer price - 12/7 or 9/5? In decimal, the comparison is easy - 2.71 (12/7) > 2.60 (9/5).

A3. BetSlip Systems

 

Currently there are two available systems for tipping on Betslips ; Accumulate (Accumulator) and Singles.

Accumulate (Accumulator)

This system is default at every bet slip.
To win this system you must tip correctly at every match you have tipped.
To calculate the total odds on a bet slip you have to multiply all selected odds. When you multiply the total odds with the stake (100Units) you get the total expected payout per bet slip. The expected earnings (winnings) per Bet slip are calculated after the stake is subtracted from the total expected payout.

Earnings = Payout – Stake, Payout = Total Odds x Stake.

When you play this system you have to be very careful because only one wrong tip will make this betslip a loosing one (-100Units). On the other hand, if you are accurate you can generate very high earnings since the separate odds are multiplied to form the betslip’s total odds. For instance; if you tip and win five matches with 1.8 odds you can earn +1789units [(1.8*1.8*1.8*1.8*1.8)*100Units-100Units=1789units]. But if you miss only one match you will loose the betslip.

 

Singles

If you select this system on a betslip practically means that you play every match you tipped as a single one, whereas the total stake of 100units is divided among the tipped matches. For instance: if you tip on four matches the stake per match is 25 Units (100 Units / 4 = 25 Units).

To calculate the maximum expected payout per betslip you have to multiply the partial stakes with the tipped odds for that match and than add them all together. The maximal expected earnings are calculated after the stake is subtracted from the total expected payout.
 

Example:
Match 1 – Odds 1.40 x 25 Units Stake = 35 Payout
Match 2 – Odds 2.00 x 25 Units Stake = 50 Payout
Match 3 – Odds 1.80 x 25 Units Stake = 45 Payout
Match 4 – Odds 2.20 x 25 Units Stake = 55 Payout

M1+M2+M3+M4 = 185 Total Expected Payout

 

Maximal expected Earnings = 185 Payout – 100 Stake = + 85

(If you didn’t tip correctly every match, to calculate total earnings just don’t add the payout for the missed ones. The stakes remain the same)
 
To win the maximum expected earnings on a Betslip with the system Singles you have to tip correctly at every match you choose to tip. If you don’t tip correctly on every match, there are several outcomes depending of the number of correct tips and winning odds.

To consider a BetSlip a winning one, earnings have to be greater than 0 (zero). If the earnings are equal to zero the BetSslip is considered as Draw. This happens when the payout equals the stake.

When playing this system you can’t expect very high earnings because the odds are somehow averaged. It is recommended to play this system when trying to disperse the risk in order to win the slip regardless of the small earning sum. This could be useful when trying to rank well in the efficiency category or when trying to fulfill or keep the ranking criteria and to keep previous rank with a minimal or no loss.


A4. Ranking Tiebreakers

 
Tipsters are ranked for prizes according to their performance in a certain category.
But what happens if two or more tipsters have identical parameters in one or more categories?

eTipsters.com has certain tiebreaking rules that influence the rankings of tipsters with identical parameters. This practically means that there is only one first place, only one second place and only one third place so the prizes are not shared. These rules are automatically implemented and influence the rankings so basically the winner is the tipster that is at the top of the list (the one with the highest rank). In any case, we find it appropriate to explain these tiebreaking rules.

 

Ranking by Earnings

 

If two or more tipsters have an equal amount of earnings, then the tipster that has the best profitability will rank higher. If the profitability is also equal, then the tipster that has the best efficiency will rank higher. If all three categories are equal, then the tipster that joined eTipsters.com first will rank higher. So the joining date and time of the tipster is the last ranking tiebreaker.
